first of many

Tomorrow is Abe's first birthday. We are not really into big birthday shin digs, just like to keep it 'familiar' (Spanish for family). Really, though, just close knit. As his Mommy and he as my first, I am really really excited. I am baking blueberry muffins from scratch and then we'll do funfetti cupcakes for after lunch and when Daddy gets home. We might have some friends over for lunch and playtime. The cool thing about keeping it low key is that it gets to be super special. I've always imagined being one of those moms who has hot cookies waiting for their niños when they come in on a cool Fall day from school. This day is just a celebration of a foretaste of many more beautiful days to come.
