Thinking about composting. Not that I have a pile at the apt. But Jaime & Jason have one.
I wish I had a line to dry my laundry on. Again, not at the apt. What a fun and efficient way to cut expenses no? And bleach diapers. :)
Should we buy a house?

Buy a house if you can do so affordably (down payment, fixed interest rate, etc). The great thing with owning a home is that you're not just tossing away 100% of your montly payment-- everything (except the interest) is going straight in to YOUR investment, building equity, that you will (likely, hopefully) get back when you sell.
Plus, interest rates are crazy low right now (4.78% today, according to the morning news). Wowzers!
And, if you are able to find a home that is going to yield a mortgage payment at or below your current rent payment, your monthly budget won't be affected. And, because the down payment is an investment, your overall networth doesn't go down because you still, technically, have that money (in the home).
AND first time homebuyers receive an $8K tax credit! That's kind of like an $8K discount on the price of the home...
The only reason we wouldn't is because we can pay down our debt by about $5000 this summer if we don't buy right now. Otherwise, that money will be put into the house the investments therein.
